''I trust that today's decision, which is based on the joint declaration I signed with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in January 2011, will give a new impulse to the full and speedy realization of all southern gas corridor as a direct and dedicated link between the Caspian Sea and the European Union, which should be extended in time'', Barroso went on. ''We have Azerbaijan's firm commitment that the gas will be delivered due to Europe through a new dedicated gas pipeline system'', EU Energy Commissioner Gunther Oettinger added.

''Whether it will consist of two pipelines - TANAP and TAP - or of a single pipeline as per the initial projects, makes no difference in terms of energy security. We presently have a new gas partner and I trust we will receive additional gas in next''.
