  • Serbia, Hungary Seal Rail Deal at Belgrade Summit

    HUNGARY, 2014/12/18 The agreements signed on Tuesday form part of transaction to modernize the Belgrade-Budapest railway line, and the high-speed connection will likely be built through concessions or public-private partnerships, it was announced. The high-speed railway would benefit the nations of Central and Eastern Europe, the EU, and as well bolster cooperation between China and this part of Europe, the two prime ministers told the summit. The new rail link “will bring Serbia not only industrial and infrastructure development but as well better connections with Hungary, Macedonia, Greece and Europe and a faster flow of passengers and goods,” Serbia's Prime Minister, Aleksandar Vucic, told the media.
  • Regional aviation agencies agree on joint services

    ALBANIA, 2013/05/26 In an effort to provide additional efficient and safer air navigation services, regional airspace navigation and safety companies signed a joint service provision area initiative. Seven regional aviation organisations, with representatives from Albania, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, Hungary, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, will co-operate under the auspices of the regional co-operation council.
  • Serbian-Hungarian railway project worth EUR 1.5 bn

    HUNGARY, 2013/05/13  Representatives of the Serbian and Hungarian railways signed on Friday a memorandum of considerate aimed at modernizing the line running from Belgrade to Budapest, the total price of the project amounting to EUR 1.5 billion. The document refers to the railway section of around 400 km, at which it will be possible to develop speeds of over 160 km/h.
  • Recent malfunction at Budapest Airport investigated

    HUNGARY, 2012/12/15 A control tower managed by Budapest Airport and the electronic system that operates control functions were damaged last Friday, causing the airport to shut down until midnight. Thanks to the efficient cooperation between the authorities and monitoring bodies, operations were back to normal next morning at 7am.
