IMF Managing Director Christine Lagarde said the prospect of rising interest rates in the United States and an economic slowdown in China were contributing to uncertainty and a higher risk of economic vulnerability worldwide. Added to that, increase in world trade has slowed considerably and a decline in raw material prices is posing problems for economies based on these, while the financial sector in a lot of nations still has weaknesses and financial risks are rising in emerging markets, she said.

    SERBIA, 2014/01/02 The real increase of Serbia's gross domestic product (GDP) in the third quarter of 2013 amounted to 3.7 % compared to the same period last year, a statement from the Statistical Office said on Monday. Seasonally adjusted data indicate a 1.4-% increase of GDP in the third quarter of this year compared to the previous quarter. Observed by activities, a significant real increase of gross added price was registered in the third quarter of 2013, compared to the same period last year, in the sector of electricity, gas and steam supplies - 20.5 %, the data and communications sector - 12.5 %, the processing industry sector - 8.7 %, and the mining sector - 8.3 %.
