Young, educated population
The Tunisian National guarantees the right to education to each school-aged child. In 2010, the budget of education and higher education reached 6.1% of the GDP and 21.6% of the budget of the National.
Education is compulsory and free up to 16 years of age: basic education lasts for nine years.
