  • Cambodia starts to build China-funded stadium

    CAMBODIA, 2017/04/07 Cambodia began to construct a China-funded stadium Tuesday on the northern outskirts of Phnom Penh in its preparations for hosting the Southeast Asian (SEA) Games for the initial time in 2023. Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen and Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia Xiong Bo presided over the groundbreaking ceremony which was attended by some 6,000 people. According to a statement by Thong Khon, president of the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia, the major stadium is estimated to cost 1 billion Chinese yuan (157 million U.S. dollars) which is aided by the Chinese government.
  • The AEC regime would integrate all ten country members of Southeast Asian politics and economy

    BRUNEI , 2015/09/30 Welcoming the commencement of regional integrated economy society of ASEAN Economic Community ( AEC) regime slated for later this year, an initiative to foster production capacity cooperation between ASEAN and China was sought to further expand economy and trade ties between the two economies. The thought to further explore the cooperation was highlighted in a high level forum discussing next relations of AEC and China in production capacity cooperation held here on Friday, attended by senior figures and stakeholders of the two economies.
  • Laos president to visit Cambodia next week

    CAMBODIA, 2015/02/21 Laos President Choummaly Sayasone will pay a national visit to Cambodia on Feb. 26 and 27 to further promote bilateral ties and cooperation, a news statement from the Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on said on Friday. The visit comes at the invitation of Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni, the statement said. During his remain in Cambodia, Choummaly will meet separately with President of the National Assembly Heng Samrin, Prime Minister Hun Sen, and initial Vice-President of the Senate Say Chhum.
  • Premier Li Keqiang called cooperation with Cambodia

    CAMBODIA, 2013/04/09 Premier Li Keqiang called on Monday for strengthened practical cooperation with Cambodia in areas inclunding agriculture, infrastructure, energy, telecommunications and water resources. China encourages its enterprises to invest in the Southeast Asian country and import its competitive agricultural products such as rice, Li said at a conference with visiting Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen.Hun Sen is the prime foreign leader that Li has received since becoming premier in March.
