Production of pre-salt hit record in July 

The pre-salt production in July was 172,800 barrels / day of oil and 5.7 million cubic meters, totaling 208,900 barrels of oil equivalent per day (Mboe / d), up 9% compared to last month, when it reached 191.2 Mboe / day. It was the biggest production from the pre-salt reservoirs, which exceeded the second time 200 Mboe / d. The first was in December 2011, with production of 200.6 Mboe / d.

The record production was derived from 10 wells located in fields Jubarte (1), Lula (5), Caratinga and Barracuda (1), Marlim Leste (1), Marlin and Voador (1) and Barracuda (1). Of the 10 producing wells of the pre-salt, seven are among the top 30 producers. Highlight for wells Lula Field, three of which are among the top five producers being the 7LL3DRJS, the largest producer in July with average flow of 37.2 Mboe / d.

In Brazil, oil production was approximately 2,023,000 barrels / day, a decline of 2.6% compared to July 2011 and 0.5% compared to June of this year. Gas production reached 71 MMm3, increase of 6.1% over the same month of 2011 and decreased 1.4% compared to the previous month. The P-52 platform, located in Roncador, produced 151.1 Mboe / day and was the one with the highest production.

The largst reductions in oil and natural gas in the previous month, were seen in the fields and Marimbá Albacora Leste due to scheduled maintenance stoppages at platforms P-08 (Marimbá) and P-50 (Albacora Leste). The Marlim Sul field in the Campos Basin, which had been the largest oil and second largest natural gas producer, with average production of 321.9 Mboe / d.

The burning of natural gas, 3.6 MMm3 / d, decreased 30.7% compared to July 2011 and an increase of 0.4% compared to the previous month.

In JuLy of 2012, 308 concessions operated by 26 companies were responsible for domestic production. Of these, 79 are 229 terrestrial and maritime concessions. It is noteworthy that, of the total production concessions, seven are in producing and exploratory activities through testing (EWT), and another 11 are on contracts of areas containing accumulations Outsiders.

The production of oil and natural gas in Brazil was coming from 9005 wells, 755 marine and terrestrial 8250. The field with the highest number of producing wells was Canto do Amaro, Potiguar basin, with 1113 wells.
